Is a manipulation of the muscles of the body along with the connective tissues in order to restore a better range of movement to those areas of the body.
Massage also enhances blood and lymphatic flow which can lead to a significant boost to the immune system and relax the mind.
This technique is used on sporty and active people in the form of deep tissue massage but can also be used as an aid to pure relaxation in the form of aromatherapy massage.
Roughly speaking it can be said (at Absolute Health anyway) that our massage techniques would vary in intensity and depth
from:-
Aromatherapy Massage (being the lightest, also using aromatic oils, usually full body)
to
Swedish Massage (a more intense, medium depth massage using an unscented base oil, usually full body)
to
Deep Tissue/Sports Massage ( a quite deep muscle manipulation using unscented base oil. Can be full body but focussing on areas of muscle and tendon damage in particular)
Although this is the general rule of thumb. Charlotte will assess each new client with a brief consultation prior to a first treatment and from there can do a blend of all 3 styles where and when necessary.
